Frans Vermeulen's Concordant Materia Medicas have been through four incarnations now. The Concordant project began with the two editions entitled Concordant Materia Medica published by Emryss of Holland and these were followed by an Indian produced B Jain / Archibel collaboration titled Concordant Reference. This is the latest 2022 reprint of the second expanded version published by Saltire Books of Scotland. Contents of the 2022 reprint are identical to the 2015 printing. 

Frans Vermeulen has produced MANY materia medicas. This could well be argued to be his major work as it is the latest version of his Concordant with 1284 remedies. The previous edition of the Concordant Reference contained just 922, so here we have an extra 362 remedies. Also, by contrast, the very popular Prisma Reference has just 505 remedies included. The first volume of Synoptic Reference has 505 remedies, and the second volume of the Synoptic Reference has 606. The Prisma and Synoptic projects can be viewed more as study / learning tools whereas the Concordant Reference veers towards the clinic. The Prisma Reference in particular seeks to add colour, folklore and history to the description.
