• Homoeopathy and Minerals

Massively influential.

This was the first of Jan Scholten's works that took the homeopathic world by storm in 1993.
It describes the essence of many elements of the Periodic table: the acids (these have a Hydrogen component), Carbon, Nitrogen and Ammonium (a compound of Hydrogen and Nitrogen), Oxygen, Fluoride, the Natrums ( ie sodium), Magnesium, Phosphorus, Sulphur, Chlorum (ie the muriaticums), Kalium, Calcium, Ferrum, Bromium, Argentum, Iodum and Barium.
This involved a new direction of thinking. Remedies had already been considered in groups by Farrington and Leeser but with this approach the common features of Calcium salts for instance would be used to find a Calcium essence. eg. Calcium carbonicum, Calcium phosphoricum and Calcium sulphuricum. The picture of Calcium can then be combined with Nitrogen and Chlorum to form new remedy pictures such as Calcium nitricum and Calcium muriaticum (chloride). This method was called group analysis.
